Comfortably numb

Looking out of the foggy windows of the library, watching the lush green trees sway to the tunes of the wind. I wonder what rhythm it plays, would I hear it if I put my ear to the pane?
My mind's numb, a comforting silence fills the room. I try hard and concentrate on what the wind blows my way.
A gentle smile plays on my lips, my eyes fill with dreams, a trans sets in and I wonder why I feel so at peace today.
The rain beats down from the heavens and each drop forms a crown when it touches the earth, releasing the heat, pain and anguish that summer left in its wake.
I decide it's time to pen down my thoughts again, yet somehow the comforting numbness if too contended to break.
Sigh! I wish today would never end, wish to be frozen in this moment forever.
The moment when I have been so comfortably numb for a change.
