Then & Now

Hey!
Ankita's been bugging me to write something for a long time now & I finally decided to do something bout it tonite.
I have a bunch o thing going on in this tiny little head o mine but the moment I sit down to write something... words fail me.
I'm jus gonna start will with things that have made me break into a smile every time I think about them....
To begin with until Last yr. I Wasn't even sure i was ever gonna be gettin married n well I went n surprised myself by marring someone who is my extreme opposite, yet turns out, is the other face in the mirror.
Those o u who knw me knw me way too well... I'm everything but a stay at home person, everything but quiet or subtle. i love loud music, a walk in the rain, throwing tantrums , watching gory horror flicks, window shoppin, dressing in comfort clothes & throwing caution to the wind.
And now here i am sharing my life with someone who is anything but the same as me.
He can sit in front o the Idiot box forever on a Sunday ... i can't, He knws how to save... me... Naaah no way wht the hell do u do with saving money, He LOVES cricket... I hate it... Boring!!!
He doesn't throw a tantrum... I sure as hell do... ( its my right) The guy who can make me get mad in a second and cool down in record time. Thank god for ppl like him.
Moving on .... Bangalore has taught me well... It's given me friends n then some more FRIENDS. I've learnt of compassion and patience ( I'm a gr8 pretender). I've learnt modesty really isn't a virtue, sometimes u need to forget bout it and make sure that u get your work noticed no matter what.

For all that it's worth... I've had a damn good time so far. ( Bits o ups and downs here n there).
Honestly learnt a lot ... too much to write n way too sleep deprived to do it rt now... will be back with another post soon.
This one is for Ankita... thanks Chotu for making me get back into the groov o writing... something I love but haven't really had the chance to do for a long long time. I'm gonna be writing somethin soon that's going to make more sense than this ... these r jus some o my random thoughts...

Drunken conversations - A moment in time

Winters brought along thick cover of fog that had just started to roll in. Law school didn’t give her as many sleepless nights as the two boys in her life did.  It was  2:30 am  by her watch and the persistent beep of a call waiting made her take note of the name on the screen. ‘Damn!’ She thought to herself, it was probably the fourth time this month she’d have to tell her boy that she needed to take the other call and he was definitely going to be mad at her this time. It had to be done. She made her excuse and switched the line. “Hello!”she said a little anxiously, but before she could say anything else, the drunk voice from the other end shouted joyously “Baby, I got a job, I got placed”. And she smiled. He’d called up her other number an hour ago and said the same thing over and over again till her Mother replied...”Congratulations! She’s in college son.” He then spent the next ten minutes apologising for calling in the middle of the night. But did it stop ...

Reflections!

She took a moment to stop fidgeting and looked at the reflection.  What she saw amazed her and yet she found it hard to recognize.  The childlike smile and kind eyes that stared back at her quizzically. What had changed? Why was there emptiness where once there was pure joy?   She smiled a wary smile, looked deeper into those eyes that were once kind. Only to find a shallow pool of tears welling inside. And as she turned around to leave she heard a faint voice.  A gentle voice that said “let go”. “Let go and come back to being the girl you were always meant to be and not the empty shell I see in front of me now.”
