God does answer prayers.

NOW I BELIEVE IN GOD ALL THE MORE... I once thought God didn't exist... then there was a god who doesn't really like me tht much, but now I believe tht there is a god who does like me a lil... if not much. He does listen to u when u pray. He heard me! I know of someone who thought this was it... there was nothin tht cud be done , tht maybe God wanted her with him n not here with us, but then things changed. there no more fear of tomorro tht might never be. Too many ppl prayed n got hear wht they had to say. I bet he decided it's not fair not to give her a chance. there's no more the talk to living jus the day befo u die. when i was youner n not wiser... not tht i am much today , i often thought wht language does the allmight understand... wht if i prayed in english... wud he still figure it out? or wud he turn a deaf ear to whtever i say. Well my granny always told me he'll hear u no matter wht n darling lil child he's the one who did teach u how to talk. She was right bout everything n now i'm jus thankful. PS: This isn't an arbit thought. It's jus my way o sayin i finally believe there's more power in prayers than i did at sometime back.

Drunken conversations - A moment in time

Winters brought along thick cover of fog that had just started to roll in. Law school didn’t give her as many sleepless nights as the two boys in her life did.  It was  2:30 am  by her watch and the persistent beep of a call waiting made her take note of the name on the screen. ‘Damn!’ She thought to herself, it was probably the fourth time this month she’d have to tell her boy that she needed to take the other call and he was definitely going to be mad at her this time. It had to be done. She made her excuse and switched the line. “Hello!”she said a little anxiously, but before she could say anything else, the drunk voice from the other end shouted joyously “Baby, I got a job, I got placed”. And she smiled. He’d called up her other number an hour ago and said the same thing over and over again till her Mother replied...”Congratulations! Reflections!

She took a moment to stop fidgeting and looked at the reflection.  What she saw amazed her and yet she found it hard to recognize.  The childlike smile and kind eyes that stared back at her quizzically. What had changed? Why was there emptiness where once there was pure joy?   She smiled a wary smile, looked deeper into those eyes that were once kind. Only to find a shallow pool of tears welling inside. And as she turned around to leave she heard a faint voice.  A gentle voice that said “let go”. “Let go and come back to being the girl you were always meant to be and not the empty shell I see in front of me now.”
